Mary Jane Shelley founded TriFocal Consulting in 2007. Prior to starting her consulting practice, Mary Jane had 15 years of experience as a child and mental health clinician, therapeutic school administrator, and mental health consultant in public and therapeutic educational settings. She has supplemented her mental health and administrative experience with on-going studies in group facilitation skills, Appreciative Inquiry, strategic planning, organizational development, and leadership coaching, including certification in administration of the California Psychological Inventory-260 and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.
Mary Jane blends a strong belief in the wisdom and knowledge of educational leaders and faculty with a deep understanding of the processes involved in making positive, effective individual and organizational change in schools. As an engaged listener and a systems-level thinker, Mary Jane is quickly able to see beyond surface issues to the underlying organizational processes at play and to use that knowledge to improve the effectiveness of school leaders and their teams in meeting the needs of all students.
Mary Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, a Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from Boston University.
